From times immemorial, people have travelled to religious sites for worship, initiatory and leisure purposes. In India, even today, there are hundreds of religious pilgrimage routes and trails around the world that are used by pilgrims as well as tourists, and one of that is Varanasi. Indeed, many religious pilgrimage routes and trails in Varanasi and around Varanasi are today used as deep ecological themes by tourism marketers in an effort to promote regional economic development. Towards these strategic innovations, Jnana Pravaha has collaborated with IIT Kharagpur.
One of the key focus of this workshop has been the revival of creative economy of Varanasi and resuscitation of means and ways of the livelihood of the ordinary humanity.
